1.What’s BT gateway and beacon?
Bluetooth gateway is a gateway device that integrates Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi technologies, it can utilize BLE technology to receive messages from the Bluetooth beacon, connect and configure the beacon, it can also utilize Wi-Fi technology to upload the data to the cloud server. Bluetooth Beacon integrates BLE technology, it can broadcast beacon messages by BLE technology and be connected and configured by the BLE host (e.g. smartphone, Bluetooth gateway).
2. What is the role of BT gateway and Bluetooth Beacon?
Bluetooth gateway is mainly used to scan Bluetooth devices and iBeacon devices, and then realize remote cloud management, for example: remotely control BLE Bluetooth devices, receive data sent by BLE Bluetooth devices, and send them to the server... Bluetooth Beacon is a small information base station. Beacon technology can capture and push information to mobile devices within the communication coverage through Bluetooth Smart. Mainly used in indoor navigation, crowd analysis, item tracking, etc. For example, timely push brand promotion information in department stores, and the location of dining facilities, or push cultural relic information to tourists in museums.
3. Application
The most commonly application is regional positioning. The Beacon node is placed in an appropriate location, and then combined with Bluetooth gateways and mobile app, it can be easily used in indoor navigation, people flow analysis, item tracking and other activities related to the movement of people in the coverage of the system.
