LE Audio Development History And Bluetooth LE Audio Module Introduction

1. Classic Bluetooth
1)One transmitter connected to one receiver
2)Music mode: A2DP, controlled by AVRCP protocol
Music pause/play, up and down song/volume up and down
3)Call mode: HFP (Hands-Free Profile)
Telephone hands-free protocol, answer/hang up/reject/voice dialing, etc.

2. Bluetooth TWS#1(True Wireless Stereo)
1)The transmission protocol is the same as the classic Bluetooth
2)The left /right earphone is connected to the mobile phone,
The left or right earphones are also connected to each other, so the earphones are both receiver(Sink) and transmitter(Source).

3. Bluetooth TWS#2(True Wireless Stereo)
1)The transmission protocol is the same as the classic Bluetooth
2)The mobile phone is connected to the left/right earphone at the same time, and the left and right channels are automatically assigned

4. Audio Full-duplex
1)The transmission protocol is the same as the classic Bluetooth
2)Connect two headphones at the same time, regardless of the left and right channels
3)Earphone 1 and earphone 2 can talk each other
4)Module recommend: BT901, BT906, BT936B, BT1036B etc.

5. Bluetooth LE AUDIO
1)Broadcast function: the mobile phone can connect multiple Bluetooth devices at the same time, including Bluetooth headsets, hearing aids etc.
2)Sharing function: multi-person connection
3)Multi-point connection, such as mobile phone, ipad, computer, etc. at the same time
4)Runs on Bluetooth low energy technology
5)High-quality, high-speed transmission—LC3 encoding
6)Low latency (minimum 20ms, about 1-200ms below Bluetooth 5.1)
7)Bluetooth version 5.2 or above

6. LE AUDIO–LC3
1)The LC3 (Low Complexity Communications Codec) technical specification was officially released by the Bluetooth SIG on September 15, 2020. All audio profiles (Profiles) of LE Audio will be forced to use the LC3 audio codec device.
