Comparison between CC2640R2F and NRF52832

Comparison of manufacturers

1. CC2640R2F: It is a 7mm*7mm volumetric patch type BLE4.2/5.0 Bluetooth chip launched by Texas Instruments (TI), with a built-in ARM M3 core. As an upgraded version of CC2640, CC2640R2F has been fully improved in terms of supporting protocols and memory.

2. NRF52832: It is a BLE5.0 Bluetooth chip launched by Nordic Semiconductor (Nordic), with a built-in ARM M4F core. NRF52832 is an upgraded version of NRF51822. The upgraded core has more powerful computing power and floating-point computing technology.

Comparison of chipset

1. CC2640R2F: As shown in the figure below, CC2640R2F contains three physical cores(CPU). Each CPU can be used independently or shared RAM/ROM. Each CPU performs its own duties and works collaboratively, achieving a balance between performance and power consumption to the greatest extent. The main functions of Sensor controller are peripheral control, ADC sampling, SPI communication, etc. When the system CPU dormancy, the Sensor controller can work independently. This design greatly reduces the system CPU wake-up frequency and reduces power consumption.

2. NRF52832: As shown in the figure below, nRF52832 is a single-core SoC, which means that after starting the BLE protocol stack, the protocol stack is at the highest priority. The priority of the application program will be lower than that of the protocol stack, and performance may be affected in applications with high real-time requirements such as motor control. In the wearable device market, stronger computing power is needed, but in other applications, such as sensor collection and simple processing are also good choices.

CC2640R2F and NRF52832 Comparison of features

1. CC2640R2F supports BLE4.2 and BLE5.0, has a built-in 32.768kHz clock crystal oscillator, supports the global license-free ISM2.4GHz frequency band, and has built-in high-performance and low-power Cortex-M3 and Cortex-M0 dual-core processors. Abundant resources, 128KB FLASH, 28KB RAM, support 2.0~3.6V power supply, power supply greater than 3.3V can guarantee the best performance.

2. NRF52832 single chip, highly flexible 2.4GHz multi-protocol SoC, support BLE5.0, frequency band 2.4GHz, 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F processor, supply voltage 3.3V, range 1.8V ~ 3.6V, 512kB flash memory + 64kB RAM , the air link is compatible with nRF24L and nRF24AP series.

At present, Feasycom has Bluetooth module FSC-BT630 that uses NRF52832 chipset, and FSC-BT616 uses CC2640R2F chipset.
